Inhalants


Inhaling highly concentrated amounts of the chemicals in solvents or aerosol sprays can cause heart failure and death.

Other irreversible effects of inhaling solvents are :

Hearing loss. Because of the use of spray paint, glue, wax removers for cleaning fluids, correction fluids.

Peripheral neuropathies or limb spasms by the use of glues, gasoline, whipped cream and gas tanks.

Damage to the central nervous system or the brain by using paint, glue and wax removers. Damage to bone marrow where gas is inhaled.

Damage to the liver or kidneys if inhaled correction fluids, dry- cleaning fluids.

Redudion of oxygen in the blood, using amyl inhalants or “poppers”, “bold”, “rush” and varnish remover or paint thinner.
